Data Processing Addendum

Processing terms for customers using Wapio with personal data.

Processor Role

For customer message workflows, Wapio acts as a data processor and the customer acts as data controller. Customers decide what personal data is sent through the Service and are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate legal basis for processing.

Processing Scope

Wapio processes personal data solely on behalf of and in accordance with the customer's instructions. Processing activities include message delivery, webhook forwarding, session management, logging, analytics, and support. We do not process personal data for our own purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

Security Measures

Wapio implements and maintains appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data including access controls, transport encryption (TLS), encrypted storage, scoped API credentials, operational logging, regular security assessments, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis.

Subprocessors

Wapio may use third-party subprocessors to provide infrastructure, hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing services. We maintain a list of current subprocessors and will notify customers of any changes. Subprocessors are bound by data processing agreements with security obligations no less protective than those in this DPA.

Data Subject Rights

Wapio will assist customers in responding to data subject requests (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection) to the extent technically feasible and as required by applicable law. Customers are responsible for directing data subject requests to Wapio when our assistance is needed.

Data Retention and Deletion

Upon termination of the Service agreement, Wapio will delete or return all personal data processed on behalf of the customer within 30 days, unless retention is required by applicable law. Customers may request data export at any time through the API or by contacting support.
